Local Marin Salon Donates Hair to Gulf Oil Spill and Goes To Great Lengths for Kids
The Renaissance House of Beauty staff Donates Hair to Clean up Gulf Oil Spill and
joins HAIRraising Charity Fundraiser Created by the Salon Industry’s Top Pros
San Rafael, CA – For the past two years, Renaissance House of Beauty Marin’s first green certified salon has been donating all their hair clippings to Matter of Trust, a company that has been in the news recently for their efforts in cleaning the Gulf oil spill. This hair is stuffed into nylon “tubes” which are tied together and used to surround, and contain, areas of the spill. The oil spill in the Gulf is threatening to ruin wildlife and livelihoods, with far-reaching and tragic implications. This is Renaissance House of Beauty’s way of pitching in to help clean up the Gulf.
Throughout the month of May, the Renaissance House of Beauty Team will also participate in “HAIRraising,” a fundraising event to benefit Children’s Hospital Boston. HAIRraising is a salon program created by renowned stylist, salon owner and product innovator John Frieda, who has mobilized the salon community across the United States to support the work of the world’s largest pediatric research facilities, Children’s Hospital Boston. Renaissance House of Beauty will ask clients to make a donation by adding $1-$2 or more to their bill at the end of their visit to support HAIRraising.
